High Court, built 1919Hyderabad, the fifth largest metropolis of India, is the state capital of Andhra Pradesh, known for its rich history and culture with monuments, mosques, temples, a rich and varied heritage in arts, crafts and dance.

Located on the Deccan Plateau and Musi River in Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad is famous for bangles, minarets, pearl bazaar and cuisine. Pearls from all over the world are said to come to Hyderabad because the artisans here are skilled in piercing and stringing pearls without damaging them. Hyderabad, home to a Software Technology Park with leading industries like Intergraph, UUNET, TCS, Wipro, Baan, Satyam, and Park International, is often called the second Silicon Valley in India (after Bangalore).

Hyderabad offers a fascinating panorama of the past, with a rich blend of cultural and historical tradition spanning over 400 years. It has a Hindu-Muslim culture with a number of monuments of historical importance like Charminar, Golconda, Salarjung Museum, Mecca Maszid, Osman Sagar and Osmania University.

Presently a strong industrial, commercial and information tec 5B3 hnology center, Hyderabad is emerging into an important tourist destination. Thus today the city offers a combination of a rich traditional ambience and the most modern, progressive and developed urban center in India.
